Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerAmy Grammas, RN, MS, MSN, CRNP-PMHI am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years in the mental health field. I have experience caring for individuals with mental health disorders in multiple settings including hospital in-patient units, home-based care, outpatient mental health clinics and intense community health programs. I received both my nursing degree and advanced practice degree from University of Maryland, School of Nursing. I have since worked for the University of Maryland Medical System on one of their inpatient psychiatric units. I have worked as a delegating nurse, clinical instructor and research assistant. I was the treating psychiatric nurse practitioner on an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team based in Baltimore City and served on a capitation team through Sheppard Pratt Psychiatric Hospital. I am proficient in treating adults with Depression, Bipolar Disorders, ADHD, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Co-Morbid Substance Abuse, OCD, and Anxiety Disorders. However, my expertise is in managing complex cases that involve co-morbid disorders such as complex medical problems, developmental disorders, intellectual disorders, brain injury and substance use disorders. I also specialize in managing individuals with forensic involvement and those experiencing their first psychotic break. I provide integrative and comprehensive mental health care utilizing innovative medication delivery systems, groundbreaking new medications and novel individualized interventions (such as genetic testing). If you are not interested in medication management, I am also proficient in completing thorough psychiatric evaluations that may be required by other institutions. |
